Fauna & Flora

Danube Delta is home for 98% of the aquatic fauna of Europe and many of the 3,400 animal species that are unique in the world.

Pelicans, cormorants, egrets, gulls, wild ducks, deer, bee-eater, wild geese, sturgeon, catfish, carp, pike, perch are some of the component species biodiversity of the Danube Delta.

Also, Danube Delta is home to 955 plant species plus 64 subspecies important, that represents about one third of the total number of species of Romanian flora.

White and yellow lilies, peonies, seabuckthorn, reed, oak forest Letea, floating reed, poplar, wormwood is a small part of the richness of the Danube Delta Flowery.
